Get on Trend! Put Some Shape In Your Shoulders!!!

If you are anything like me your favorite part of watching any awards show is the outfits.  Let's take the Grammys for example.  Yes Elton John and Lady Gaga's duet along with Beyonce's wild solo performance were amazing but what I LOVE most are their outfits. 

I've been experimenting alot this season with puff shoulder dresses, tops, jackets, anything I can get my hands on and couldn't help but notice what a trend this was for the big timers at the Grammys:

FEAR NOT LADIES YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A CELEBRITY TO WEAR PUFF SHOULDERS!  Have some fun with your wardrobe and PUT SOME SHAPE in your shoulders!!!

Just remember since you are adding volume to the top half of your body you should try and keep the color palette below the waist as DARK and as FITTED as possible.  A strong shouldered piece DESERVES to be center of attention (as do YOU)!

Its nice to meet you! Let's start with the fundamentals of fashion...

Who am I? I'm someone who believes EVERYDAY is a new adventure and I want to dress the part. If my outfit is boring I myself am bored. I believe that not only does your wardrobe have to be diverse in FUNCTION and PRICE but above all you have to feel COMFORTABLE in it. Comfort is key and we can't forget that looking good is about feeling GOOD.

Listen. Times are tough and honestly whether you are tied to a budget or just looking to save the feeling is mutual: THE NEEDS OF FASHION CAN BE OVERWHELMING! Seasons and trends are constantly changing and require wardrobe updates and this can get pricey... Fear not ladies! A Girl is here to help! (Fellas: I haven't forgotten about you but you know the rules: Ladies First- we'll get to you guys later.)

Ladies, how can I help? Through years of experience I have learned the hard way what is and what is not worth your money. WE WORK HARD FOR OUR MONEY and when it comes to spending on our wardrobe we definitely want to make sure it is not wasted. Stick with me and we'll talk about the following plus much much more:

• What should you invest on in your wardrobe and how much should you spend?
• Where can you find fashion at a price without looking cheap?
• How can you merchandise key items differently so that your friends don't wonder if you wear the same thing everyday?

Before we go there I think everyone should remember the following (it goes for both GALS and GUYS). These are the rules to live by and will ensure that you are HAPPY with all your future fashion decisions.

WARDROBE RULES TO LIVE BY:

1. No matter what... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT YOU DO NOT ABSOLUTELY LOVE! Whether you spend $5 or $500 your money will be wasted if you do not love what you buy. How do you know you love it? It can be love at first sight. Many times I will buy something because the colors are so vibrant and fun that there is no way I could be in a bad mood wearing it. Other times it is the first time you try it on. Even it is a basic white tank. If you look hot and it fits your body type--YOU WILL LOVE IT FOREVER.

2. BE A THOUGHTFUL SHOPPER. Ok once you fall in love let's come back down to earth and be realistic. Does the price work within your "FASHION BUDGET"? (we will talk about our fashion budget in greater detail later--everyone should have one). Is it something unique that you can't find anywhere else or is it something that you can buy its twin for the half the price across the street? And most important what do you already own that you can wear it with?

3. Last but not least--MAKE SURE WHAT YOU BUYS FITS AND THAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. If a dress is too tight to the point where you can not breathe after your lunch break then there is no way you can be a HAPPY person. SIZE is just a number. Honestly, do not wear something that doesn't fit because you didn't want to go up a size. PLEASE TRUST ME.
Follow the above guidelines and you will come home from your shopping trip REGRET FREE. Doesn't that sound nice?
